50 3 D MODEL FOR RAMPART WALK Landen
In 2011, the town of Landen celebrated its 800th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a project is being prepared in which a moat walk is being created in Landen, providing information to tourists and recreation-seekers – young and old alike – about the city’s history by means of information panels. The moat walk follows the course of the old city walls and gives an historical insight into the development of a small urban settlement in the Hageland.
The walk’s starting point is next to the Rufferdinge Visitor Centre. In addition to the tourist information panels, there are plans to create a model that will show the old route taken by the moat. Visitors to the tourist office and visitor centre can thus find out about Landen before going on the walk in the city centre.
