52 SAFETY ENSURED BY PERMANENTLY STAFFED FACILITY

Hageland+

The aim of this project is to offer a centralised alarm system for older people with severe care needs who have a limited social network, whose informal carers are difficult to reach and who live in the countryside. This alarm system makes it possible for help to be given quickly to a specific group of recipients of care in the home who are not capable themselves of setting off an alarm or who are at high risk of falls or other incidents.

The project hopes to achieve the following with this alarm system:
- to increase the peace of mind and sense of security of both older people (some of whom are suffering from dementia) and informal carers;
- to be able to bring help quickly in a crisis situation, e.g. when the older person has had a fall;
- to make it possible to extend care in the home by using modern technology (an alarm system with sensors), embedded in a network of professional home care providers.
