66 CELEBRATION 200 YEARS OF THE HORSE MARKETGeetbets
Since the 19th century, probably 200 years ago, a horse market was set up during the annual fair, at which horses were offered for sale. To further promote the market and turn it into a tourism asset, the community of Geetbets wants to celebrate the 200 years of existence of this market. For this occasion, the community would like to have a regional product developed, for which a contest will be organised. In addition, it will be assessed whether it is possible to organise an exhibition of the Brabant draft horses. Youth organisations and the primary school will be involved in the project by means of a colouring contest. Cofinancing is requested for all entertainment during the horse market, for the development and selection of the regional product and for promotional activities.
