Situated just outside the centre of the village of Glabbeek is a former military estate. There are some seven huts on this land, one of which is used as a play hut for the Grabbelpas children’s activities club and the KLJ (Catholic Rural Youth Association). The roof structure is supported by posts, whose unprotected corners make them hazardous. There is a plan to make the posts more visible by affixing yellow and black stripping. The concrete block at the bottom of the posts will be made more noticeable with yellow road paint. In addition, the posts will be protected by affixing rubber edging profiles, cushioning any impact should children accidentally bump into the edge of the posts.
