18 VIK AT THE HAGELAND FESTIVALS AND EVENTSHageland+
The goal of this project was to continue the development and promotion of child-friendly Hageland festivals and to promote it as a tourist destination. Phase 1 involved the start-up of a network of Hageland festival organisers and the creation and testing of a typical high-quality Hageland child-friendly range of events for festivals and other events. In Phase 2, after the fine-tuning of the test case, the child-friendly Hageland events for children was included in the existing Hageland festivals. The subsidy was requested for Phase 1 of this project. The typical child-friendly activities has been developed further by professionals from the entertainment sector with advice on content from partners such as the tourist office of Flemish Brabant and the Straffe Streek en Regionale Landschappen so that tourist assets, regional products and ‘koesterburen’ – an association that valorises aspects of rural life - are appropriately promoted.
