20 BIERBEEK COME OUT OF YOUR CORNER

Bierbeek

‘Bierbeek kom uit je kot’ (Bierbeek come out of your corner) was a rural project aimed at helping to break through social isolation in rural areas, promote social cohesion and integration, seek out and combat the problem of hidden poverty and introduce useful activities. The project was broken down into four sub-projects: organising a village restaurant, starting up a social grocery store, building up group activities with the clients of the Public Centre for Social Welfare and building up a group of networks in our municipality. The aim was to achieve interaction between all these sub-projects so that together they contributed to achieving the principal objectives.
