Research has revealed a continuing drop in the number of young people who are familiar with the works of the Hageland poet Julia Tulkens (1902-1995). The municipalities of Linter, Landen and Tienen wanted to improve and enhance the image and importance of their honorary citizen. They aimed to achieve this by publishing a range of digital publications about her so that children and teenagers can connect more closely to her. To this end, a new collection of poems from the Julia Tulkens poetry competition was compiled and an educational package has been put together and offered to schools, educational institutions and libraries. This also served to enhance and promote the existing products and events aimed at tourists.
