55 'SNOEZELTUIN' (GARDEN OF SENSES) AND EXCITING GARDEN EXPERIENCE

In 2018, Het Balanske wanted to extend its discovery campaign, a proven educational method for the disabled, to the outdoors in the form of a discovery garden. The design of the “Snoezeltuin” (Garden of Senses) took account of the regional identity and biodiversity and there was a conscious choice of local planting. This project was also part of the new provincial gardens campaign. Participation was key to this project. The wishes of everyone involved from facilitators, employees, managers and parents were all taken into account in the original concept of the “Snoezeltuin” through to the actual layout and planting.
