With ‘Green play areas as social connective tissue’, the municipality of Geetbets homes in on the experience of public areas by landscaping them as green, sustainable meeting and play areas.
Facilitating encounters in the neighbourhood enhances and increases social cohesion, which in turn leads to more care for and by the district and its inhabitants.
The municipality also takes initiatives to increase dynamism in the district and bring the local people together. A few examples are: free calisthenics lessons, neighbourhood parties to celebrate the inauguration of new sites, etc.
The municipality also positions itself as a green, attractive municipality that is attentive to the quality of life in the surrounding areas.
