13 BUURTEN IN HAGELAND: FERM MAMADEPOT AS ACCESSIBLE ANCHOR POINT

Hageland+

* The Dutch word 'buurten' means 'visiting neighbours'

This umbrella project focuses on strengthening four meeting places in the area of Hageland. By working together with local residents and local organisations, the Ferm Mamadepots are expanded into central meeting points. The goals are multiple: promoting social interaction, stimulating economic cooperation and promoting sustainability. This contributes to a closer rural community.

New forms of uniting and volunteering are applied, with Ferm acting as facilitator. Each location is developed on a tailor-made basis, based on local needs. Through small-scale activities and partnerships, awareness is raised about consumerism and recycling.

The project also includes a learning ecosystem between the four sites, for efficient knowledge sharing. Experiences gained are shared during a concluding study day to generate wider impact and inspire other municipalities. In this way, the project creates sustainable, inclusive communities with Ferm Mamadepots as anchor points.
