This project aims to open up a protected monument to a broader public and bring together literature, music and visual art. Tielt-Winge's library will be soon housed in Sint-Martinus church.
The library currently offers a wide range of books and activities for all ages. By organising readings, read-alouds and other events, it acts as a meeting place where people come together to read and talk. The new location in St Martin's Church provides additional opportunities, such as readings combined with organ concerts, thanks to the cooperation with the academy of Tienen.
The move to the church requires some adjustments: improved heating, updated electricity and lighting, fire safety and adapted sanitary facilities. Movable book shelves make the space flexible for various cultural activities. The new lending desk will be visually integrated into the church architecture, keeping the library a dynamic and inviting place for the community.
