At Ferm services company's ironing workshops, they notice a high demand to take on small mending jobs. Fewer people have the skills to do this themselves. The existing services in mending are more focused on making new garments themselves, are more likely to be located in metropolitan areas & are often less accessible to disadvantaged groups because of price & location.
Ferm Services Company sets up 4 local mending points in existing locations or partner locations. Here people can offer their clothing to be adjusted. Here, they consciously choose locations that reach a diverse audience. In addition to the 4 locations, they are exploring the feasibility of setting up a mobile alteration service.
Besides providing additional employment opportunities, a training course in mending is also being developed with a special focus on vulnerable target groups.
