24 SETTING UP LANDSCAPE PLAY ELEMENTS WITHIN THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE VIANDER DOMAIN

Tienen

The Viander Domain in Tienen is being revitalised with a holistic master plan that encompasses the natural and recreational aspects of the domain. The project includes various facilities such as fish ponds, playgrounds and hiking trails, and integrates seamlessly into the surrounding landscape with dynamic water management. The approved Master Plan focuses on creating a healthy and resilient environment with a focus on water quality, mobility and amenity.

The Viander Domain will be transformed into a vibrant play landscape, in which natural assets are used to stimulate children's physical and mental development, while the overall experience of the domain is enriched with lee areas and adventurous play zones.

The project is a unique combination of nature conservation, recreation and social interaction, with the community closely involved in the development and vision of the domain. In a first phase, the play zone on the future main axis will be redesigned and a bank of the nature pond will be adapted and equipped with a obstacle course.
