25 CHURCH AND VICARAGE GARDEN LANGDORP: LEE PLACE AS SOCIAL LEVER AT THE CHURCH PLANT HH. MARY, PETER AND ANTHONY

Aarschot

The St Peter's site in Langdorp, near Aarschot, is a rural gem: the historic church, churchyard and vicarage (garden) fit in nicely with the greenery around the Demer river area and the former parish hall, football pitch and sports hall. The site has enormous potential as a neighbourhood spot for residents and as a welcoming place for visitors, tourists and peace-seekers.

In the next step, they want to re-green the site and give the hall a sustainable social future. Through this LEADER project, the St Peter's site will first be strengthened as a lee place and social lever: making a lively, green place where working with the vulnerable and volunteers go hand in hand with welcoming visitors.
