This project aims to break down polarisation around agriculture and food by bringing farmers, citizens and civil society together in a landscape of dialogue, experience and sustainable choices. Over a period of six months, a wide range of activities will be organised in three municipalities in the Hageland region (Geetbets, Diest and Glabbeek), from depolarising discussions and community kitchens to collaborative days and tastings that bring citizens and agriculture closer together. Participants discover shared values such as healthy food, biodiversity and fair prices. And they are encouraged to make more sustainable consumption choices themselves. Through art, stories and experiential learning methods, a wide audience is reached and behavioural change is stimulated beyond mere awareness-raising. An evaluation tool measures the impact and collects insights that contribute to a sustainable agricultural transition in the Hageland region.
