A micro-project to make a historic pilgrimage route accessible again by means of a new bridge.
The common thread in this project is the pilgrimage route from Tremelo to Scherpenheuvel. This route is also known as the Damien route. Along the pilgrims' route from Tremelo to Scherpenheuvel, Regionaal Landschap Noord-Hageland is developing an extra resting point along the Grote Laakbeek. A place to reflect and meet (again). A tree-trunk bridge over the river Laak is also planned at this location. The bridge will be at the site of a former wading area through the Laak where two recreational paths currently dead-end on the Laak. This is an important missing link in the walking and recreational path network between the two municipalities of Tremelo and Rotselaar.
