An increasing number of elderly people choose to hard landscape their gardens because it saves them a lot of maintenance. Landelijke Thuiszorg wants to counter this trend and protect green spaces.
Older, care-dependent people can offer (part of) their garden for this purpose. However, this is not limited to just this group and could also apply to young families with a busy lifestyle time or to kindergartens looking for gardeners to look after their garden or chickens outside of school hours.
A lot of people have indicated that they would like to offer their time to work in a green environment. They want a piece of land, part of an orchard or they would like to help with harvesting of vegetables or fruit.
In this project, both parties get together and dedicate themselves to a liveable, green neighbourhood where young and old can get to know each other and help and inspire each other.
