De Vlaspit has two catering establishments with very distinct profiles. Whereas the De Heerlyckheid establishment in Scherpenheuvel focuses mainly on pilgrims, tourists and middle-class regulars in the summer season, the local Het Beverbeekhuis restaurant targets residents and associations from the Speelhof social housing estate in Diest.
By developing a new range of services for facilitating business activities, training and networking opportunities for organisations and companies in winter, De Heerlyckheid aims to maintain the same level of activities in the winter as in summer and to introduce organisations and mainstream companies to the social economy and the tourist attractions of the region. De Vlaspit has an extensive network of contacts with organisations and mainstream companies throughout the country and wants to invite these and new contacts for this purpose.
Het Beverbeekhuis restaurant continues its mission as a local restaurant and meeting place in the district, organising neighbourhood activities and making premises available to associations and service organisations.
